Searching for SDS

You can search for a particular Safety Data Sheet by reference standard name, catalog number, or CAS number.

 

NOTE

To get a list of recently added reference standards, click on the button in the Contents Panel.

 

 

NOTE

An individual SDS can be saved as a PDF.

 

Searching by Name

To search by name

 

1.   Click on the appropriate letter button (e.g., A, C, E) to get a list of reference standards beginning with that letter.

OR

 Enter the partial or full name of the reference standard in the Search field and click .

 

 

 

 

o     A list of matching results displays in the Contents Panel. (If no matches are found, you will receive a message indicating this.)

 

NOTE

When searching by name, keep in mind that the list of matches will show all results containing that letter combination. For example, a search for " ata" will yield results that include the reference standards azatadine, benzonatate, and natamycin.

 

2.   Select a reference standard from the list.

o     The corresponding SDS displays as a PDF in the Document Panel.

 

Searching by Catalog Number

To search by reference standard catalog number

1.   Enter the partial or full name catalog number in the Search field and click .

o     A list of matching results displays in the Contents Panel. (If no matches are found, you will receive a message indicating this.)

 

NOTE

When searching by number, keep in mind that the list of matches will show all results containing that number combination. For example, a search for "1370" will yield results that include the reference standards loratadine (1370270), lovastatin (1370600), and lutein (1370804).

 

2.   Select a reference standard from the list.

o     The corresponding SDS displays as a PDF in the Document Panel.

 

Searching by CAS Number

To search by the Chemical Abstract Service number

1.   Enter the full CAS number in the Search field and click .

 

o     A list of matching results displays in the Contents Panel. (If no matches are found, you will receive a message indicating this.)

 

NOTE

If you know only part of the CAS number, you can enter those numbers in the general Search field. The list of matching results will include the SDSs containing that number series. USP Reference Standards that contain those numbers in their item number will also be displayed.

 

2.   Select a reference standard from the list.

o     The corresponding SDS displays as a PDF in the Document Panel.
